Just picture yourself sitting on the beach sipping a cold drink, basking in the sun by an umbrella on the sand or admiring the clean blue sea and the greenery of the natural surroundings. But what if it rains? What is there to do in Caorle on a <strong>rainy day<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t think that your <strong>holiday<\/strong> will be ruined, because Caorle is beautiful even when the weather is bad. There are lots of things to do if it rains. It can be a great chance to explore the <strong>old fishing village<\/strong> and go on a fascinating journey full of history and culture. Inside you can admire a golden altarpiece that was given to the town by Caterina Cornaro, the Queen of Cyprus, after she was saved from a shipwreck off the coast of Caorle. Next to it is a magnificent 11<sup>th<\/sup> century <strong>bell tower<\/strong> that looks down on the town from above.<\/p>\n<p>Another enchanting place to visit even when it\u2019s rainy is the <strong>seafront promenade<\/strong>, which is considered \u201cone of the most beautiful in the Northern Adriatic\u201d. The rocks are like an outdoor sculpture gallery, with works of art carved into them by Italian and international artists. Inside is a heavy marble throne on which \u2013 legend has it \u2013 a statue of the Virgin Mary was found floating in the sea.<\/p>\n<p>Caorle is a vibrant place all year round. Lots of initiatives are organized to keep visitors entertained, including art exhibitions, concerts and sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>If you love <strong>shopping<\/strong>, as well as wandering around the streets in the town centre, you can head to the numerous malls near Caorle, either to buy things or simply to do a little window shopping. Many of the shopping centres have special play areas to keep your children entertained.<\/p>\n<p>There really are lots of things to do in Caorle when it rains. Whether you want to embark on a cultural journey, go shopping or simply stroll through the narrow, Venetian-style streets, it can cater to all needs.
