You can learn all sorts of fascinating <strong>historical facts <\/strong>about the beautiful beach resort and the surrounding area, where the first people settled as long ago as the<strong> Bronze Age<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The museum is not only interesting but also extremely engaging thanks to its selection of <strong>technological and multimedia systems<\/strong>. Young and old alike will love using them to learn all about the history of the local area.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3033303\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lampo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/museo-del-mare1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Visiting the National Maritime Archaeology Museum<\/h2>\n<p>There are two floors in the museum, which has been run by the Veneto Archaeological Heritage Office since 2014.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On the first floor<\/strong> are <strong>prehistoric and Ancient Roman finds<\/strong>, which reveal how the history and archaeology of the area unfolded. It takes visitors on a captivating journey from the Bronze Age to modern times.<\/li>\n<li><strong>On the ground floor<\/strong> is an exhibition of the remains of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century brig \u201c<strong>Mercurio<\/strong>\u201d, which sank off the coast of Caorle during a battle. It was a two-masted warship that was built during the Napoleonic era and later given to the Italians by the French. During a battle in 1812, the ship\u2019s magazine was hit, the gunpowder exploded and the vessel went down along with most of its crew.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The muster roll has been found and it has revealed lots of information about the meticulously organized life at sea, not to mention the fact that there was a woman on board. She was the wife of the ship\u2019s cook.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3033308\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lampo.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/museo-del-mare2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many historic accounts and facts can be explored using <strong>touchscreens<\/strong>, video screenings and <strong>virtual reality stations<\/strong> that recreate the thrills of diving in the wreck excavation area.<\/p>\n<p>These tools mean that a visit to the Caorle National Maritime Archaeology Museum is a wonderful way to take a<strong> joyful plunge into the past<\/strong> during a holiday in Caorle.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to visit the museum: opening times and tickets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Caorle maritime museum is open to the public from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on <strong>Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays<\/strong>. Last entry: 5:00 pm.
