21st April in Valgrande natural area

On 23rd and 24th March all over Italy the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI) organized the Spring Day. During these two days more than 700 locations all over Italy that are usually not accessible to the public, were opened to the tourists in order to promote the culture and natural gems of the Country that are usually hidden to everyone’s eyes.

Among the exceptionally open spots, there was one near us, Bibione Valgrande, a fishing area really important because of its big natural value. It is a private 360 hectars wide area, where different kind of fishes are grown, but where you can also find a large variety of flora and fauna species. It’s a lagoon that was created many years ago with the debris carried by the Tagliamento river and by the action of the man who flood the area to transform it in a fishing ground.

Due to the bad weather that hit our region at the end of March, the opening of Valgrande has been moved to 21st April 2013: on that day it will be possible to take part to guided visits in this precious but still not very well known natural area.

The guided tours will be lead by young tourist guides: the boys and girls of Liceo Classico XXV Aprile in Portogruaro. They will accompany the visitors to discover a part of our Veneto region that can be usually visited by foot, bike or horse only through on demand visits.

Nature and photography lovers, Veneto enthusiastics and passers-by, would you like to spend a day in Bibione different from usual, taking advantage of the warm Spring weather, flowers blooming and nature awakening?

The entry will be free and the guided tours will start about every hour.

Valgrande entry finds by Restaurant “Ai Lecci” in Via Baseleghe 2, more information about Valgrande can be found on the website http://www.valgrandebibione.com/
