II edition of the Golden Asparagus Competition

In Bibione and along the Venetian coast, white asparagus has found an environment and a climate particularly suitable for its cultivation.

A real firstfruit of these areas, protagonist in spring of good local food and wine, with many recipes and typical dishes to be tried.

The traditional “Festival of Bibione Asparagus” has been held every year at the end of April for over thirty years to allow everyone to enjoy this delicious excellence: the restaurateurs in this specific period of the year create dishes and proposals with this succulent ingredient expanding the taste buds of taste travellers.

For the second year, Bibione is organizing Bianco Weekend, three days dedicated to white asparagus through a gastronomic competition where the best cuisines of the Veneto compete against each other with ladles to promote the tourist destination. And that’s not all, because the dishes will be accompanied by wines strictly from the Strada dei Vini DOC Lison Pramaggiore (VE).

A tensile structure will be set up in Piazza Treviso to welcome the 3-day celebration:

  • May 5th Award ceremony for the winner of the II Edition of the Golden Asparagus Competition
  • May 6th and 7th training activities for the public with 6 cooking shows, 2 wine tastings and a talk show on the value of food and wine tourism
