- The dam (breakwater): The most popular spot for fishing from Punta Sabbioni Beach. The stone structure attracts gilthead bream, sea bass and white seabream, particularly in autumn and early winter.
- The open beach: Good for surfcasting along the main sandy stretch. Target species include mullet, sole and smaller bream.
- Lagoon side: The lagoon channels and edges on the western side of the peninsula hold eels, mullet and flatfish in calmer conditions.
- Boat fishing: Chartered excursions and boat fishing trips are available from the area, allowing you to head further into the lagoon or out towards open water for larger species. Ask locally for current operators.
Beach activities and relaxation
There’s more to do at Punta Sabbioni Beach than swim and fish. The beach clubs (stabilimenti balneari) have sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, showers, changing facilities and beach bars. Most operate from late May through September, with services becoming more comprehensive from mid-June.

- Swimming: Gentle slope and clean Blue Flag water make this one of the safer and more comfortable swimming beaches on the coast
- Kayaking and paddleboarding: Equipment hire available locally; the calm conditions on most mornings suit beginners
- Cycling: The 7-kilometre over-water cycle path from Punta Sabbioni to Lio Piccolo is one of the longest of its kind in Italy.
- Walking the breakwater: The walk along the dam to the pagoda-style lighthouse is easy and gives you a different perspective on the lagoon entrance
- Birdwatching: The lagoon side of the peninsula attracts wading birds, and in spring, flamingos have been spotted in the northern lagoon
- Day trip to Venice: The ACTV vaporetto from the ferry terminal runs every 30 minutes to San Zaccaria, near Piazza San Marco, in around 35 minutes
- Island hopping: Line 14 also connects to Burano and Murano. Explore the lagoon at your own pace.

When to go
Peak season runs from late June to August. The beach, ferry terminal and car parks all fill up fast during this period.
May, early June and September are our favourite months. Temperatures are warm, and the sea temperature sits around 22–24°C. For fishing from Punta Sabbioni Beach, September and October are the best months of the year.
Getting there and parking
- By car: Follow the SP42 from Jesolo along the peninsula. Paid car parks are available close to the ferry terminal.
- By bus: ATVO buses run regularly between Lido di Jesolo and Punta Sabbioni (around 50 minutes). The ATVO stop is approximately 200 metres from the ACTV ferry terminal.
- By ferry from Venice: ACTV lines 14 and 15 run from San Zaccaria to Punta Sabbioni.
